JUNE KEY POINTS


TOTAL DWELLING UNITS
    <LI type=square>The trend estimate for the total number of dwelling units commenced rose 4.9% in the June quarter 2010 following a rise of 9.0% in the March quarter 2010.
  • The seasonally adjusted estimate for the total number of dwelling units commenced rose 0.8% in the June quarter which follows a rise of 9.1% in the March quarter.


NEW HOUSES
    <LI type=square>The trend estimate for new private sector house commencements was flat in the June quarter following an increase of 2.7% in the March quarter.
  • The seasonally adjusted estimate for new private sector house commencements fell 3.9% in the June quarter following a fall of 1.1% in the March quarter.


OTHER RESIDENTIAL BUILDING
    <LI type=square>The trend estimate for new private sector other residential building commencements rose 11.4% in the June quarter which follows a rise of 16.4% in the March quarter.
  • The seasonally adjusted estimate for new private sector other residential building rose 11.5% in the June quarter following a rise of 14.5% in the March quarter
