A forthright and frank assessment.
But what is the likelihood of emergency measures being taken? It seems mainstream thinking is still that we are only facing a business cycle downturn - not a structural change.
Locally, some even think we are in the midst of a boom, like Gittins!:

I think it is interesting that a main stream news show had that segment though. It indicates that maybe more people are realising how dire things could be.
I have noticed that the recent bill amendment in the states (that failed) which had the effect of allowing detention of suspected terrorists indefinitely and defined terrorist as including anyone with 7 days food in the house seems to have set the libertarian and conspiracy guys going.
