SOUTH Brisbane has been labelled the local equivalent to New York's Greenwich Village and has been pinpointed as one of Brisbane's property hotspots.

A new annual report by Urbis aims to find opportunities and hotspots in the Brisbane market - taking into account factors such as population, infrastructure and employment - to predict long-term investment openings and some historical data.

It lists South Brisbane as one of eight hotspots.

Mother and daughter, Fiona Carey and Grace Carey-Gorey, 18, can understand why South Brisbane would prove to be popular.

Ms Carey said they had previously lived in the suburbs, but moved to a unit in South Brisbane about a year ago and loved it.http://www.courierma...n-1226238523856

Here's a question.
Why would this mob have a link to this story?
Brisbane Carpenter
Or this mob?
Solar Hot Water Systems
Purely coincidence perhaps.
I hope we don't discover that Grace Carey-Gorey or her mum, works for one of these or someone associated with the industry.
Maybe I'm getting paranoid in my old age.
Especially when it comes to the housing "market".

Were you checking whether Fiona Carey or Grace Carey-Gorey had any RE connections sol? ;) That's how I found those links. :)

You guys have a lot to answer for.
"Busted"
Yes I was, SC.
Prior to GHPC and its revelation of RE people parading in ads, I was so naive to believe that they were just genuine normal people.
How sad is that.
How even more sad that now, I do a cursory check to see for myself, instead of trusting that they are just a couple of people selected from random to give their impression of a block of flats in a city suburb.
Is this where our world's got to?
Is this where I've got to?

Why do we now have to check into people's private lives, to prove that we're not being played for fools?
I'm ashamed of myself.

However, it still doesn't digress from my earlier post and question, as to what are those two similar websites doing linking to the Courier mail story.

i used to read these articles and go in search of their connection with the property industry. my hit ratio has lead me to, unless otherwise stated, assume that they are associated with the industry.

# unless otherwise stated all people pictured in this article have an interest in the property market, not limited to owning, selling, buying, being managing or selling agents. - now that's the sort of disclaimer i now expect!

:P

They probably just publish an RSS feed for all stories about property. Content fillers for their site. They are property related sites. Newspapers don't mind free syndication of their stories advertisements

it's quite normal for advertising to be 'supported' by editorial, often ghost written by the advertiser, as long as it has at least one leg as a story.

so if i placed a half page ad for my solar panels (solar panels are probably a bad example as there are multiple advertisers now) i could expect a 1/4 page editorial on the virtues of solar. something like...

a new government report says that solar panels are fab. CEO for zaph solar panels said "you can save the environment and reduce your costs at the same time". the government report found the average family can save $1000 per year. Mr zaph said the average family can save $800 per year by installing a high quality instalment, but warns against chinese product. the report found that there was a 38% failure rate amongst imported panels. "the whole system hinges on the inverter" zaph said. industry president xaph (zaph's wife, sshh) warned against cheap Chinese imports, saying they were inferior and if you bought them your house would instantly catch fire.

for a 100k i could get an ad in each news saturday paper and editorial.

You're so informative, and entertaining.
Point taken.
See; I told you I was getting paranoid. Maybe I'm watching too many horror movies lately.

That REIQ journo superstar Michelle Hele again. Remember last week... http://www.simplesus...n-qld-property/

Maybe we need to create a "Michelle Hele" specific thread ala the Andrew Wilson one so we can dump her toxic stinking faecal matter in the one spot and create some 'history' trends and 'form'.

What say you?

She's not worthy it, a light weight. although she does provide more journalistic laughs than ando.

why not? she usually can't write an article by herself and requires a co author. i suspect she is someone's daughter.

She's won the REIQ's "Best RE report of the year". You can't buy that sort of prestige...

These are the Walkley awards for the RE media industry. I'm surprised they don't televise their gala night! Maybe after the final of this years "The Block"

We should give her our own award but I can't think what to call it.
