I can see why they didn't give him bail. The guy is straight out of central casting. A born bond villain. That's the sort of guy that's going to have bullion, passports and firearms on hand at all times. As well a pink cadillacs.

I also noticed that filesonic/fileserver were down..
US gov't is getting tough on the internet

i for one am willing to cancel my ISP in protest, and go back to snail mail,.it would only take %50 of internet users to cancel ISPs and the whole IT industry would be begging the gov to chill the f*ck out. , its not like anyone would be away from the net, dont most pweople have jobs to use net from? im just talking home user accounts cancel them
sure would f*ck of the gillard gov spending $40 bill on a spy network no one f*cken wants in their own home. o i know im dreaming

It's a vexed question though. If the individual artist makes some cash for their talents then I'm happy for the file sharing. I don't want to pay Sony et al because they have loads of cash and can promote their stable of artistes across the internet. But if you're an artist the marketing is essential. Like you medved I don't want corporations ruling the web. They become rent seekers to others creativity. The internet is still struggling to find a business model that will actually work. If it needs to involve identity I'm going contracting.
