I never understood how people can do anything on public transport. How can you concentrate on the content (aka relax) when your mind has to focus on not missing your stop?

In my case 10 years of practice. A zen buddhist of commuting.

I once thought of writing an app for phones called "The Conductor" which tracked your rate of travel and location and when it detected that you were approaching an area where you usually changed speed radically (i.e train to walking) and the phone hadn't moved much recently it would ring.

That has to be the first useful purpose of a smartphone. Let the phone alert you when it approaches your stop's GPS coordinates.

The numbers show that Australia has increased immigration to "Big Australia" levels again.

The floodgates are open. Let us drown in foreign skilled labour.

We had the second highest permanent arrivals quantity in the history of Australia. The country is asleep or stuck in a traffic jam.
